New Kelvin Series Additions

The popular Sitka Gear Kelvin clothing line is back and better than ever in the flexible Kelvin Lite series and the Kelvin Active Jacket. Sitka Kelvin hunting clothing is well-suited for quality insulation and overall warmth without excessive bulk or weight. Let’s take a closer look at each new addition.

Kelvin Lite Vest

The Kelvin Lite Vest is designed to be worn as a mid-layer on extremely cold hunts or an outer layer on warmer days. The Lite Vest sports 80g of PrimaLoft Silver Hi-loft Insulation in the body and 80g Polartech insulation under the arms. The fabric is treated with Polygiene to minimize odors even during periods of high activity, and a DWR treatment is applied to the outer surface for water resistance when unexpected rain or snow hits. Zippered hand pockets on each side can be used to warm hands when the temperature drops. The Kelvin Lite Vest is well-suited for big game hunting and it is available in Open Country and new Subalpine patterns.

Kelvin Lite Hoody

The Sitka Gear Kelvin Lite Hoody is just as versatile as the Kelvin Lite Vest, but it features sleeves for added warmth and protection. The hoody is built around 80g of PrimaLoft Silver Hi-loft Insulation, and a DWR water repellent treatment beads light rain and snow should the weather change unexpectedly. Polgiene tech is also present to neutralize hunter odor. As a mid-layer or a top layer depending on the temperature, the Kelvin Lite Hoody is a valuable asset on any big game hunt. It is available in Open Country, Subalpine and Solid patterns.

Kelvin Active Jacket

Another new addition to the Kelvin apparel line comes in the Kelvin Active Jacket. This ultra-light jacket is an excellent mid-layer option, especially when combined with heavier Sitka jackets like the Dewpoint or Mountain series. The Kelvin Active Jacket exclusively uses Polartech Alpha insulation that keeps the wearer warm even when the jacket gets wet. The Active Jacket is another great flexible option in the Sitka Gear line, and you can get it in Open Country and Subalpine patterns.

Waterfowl Additions

Duck hunters are receiving some worthy upgrades to the Sitka Gear hunting clothing line this year, namely an extremely warm Duck Oven jacket and ultra-tough Dakota Pants.

Duck Oven Jacket

The Sitka Gear Duck Oven Jacket is the perfect option for cold mornings in the duck blind, and it’s primary focus is to preserve core warmth while fighting those frigid winds that come off the lake or river. The Duck Oven starts with an impressive 200g of PrimaLoft Silver Insulation in the body and 133g of PrimaLoft Silver Insulation in the sleeves. Sitka Gear Windstopper Technology is integrated into the Duck Oven to keep the wearer warm even in icy winds. At the bottom of the jacket, high-stretch Gradient fabric makes it easy to tuck the jacket into waders and create a warm barrier between the jacket and wader. Also of note is a high-neck collar that keeps the cold from creeping down the top of the jacket. The Duck Oven jacket is best utilized as a top layer on most mornings, but if extremely cold temperatures threaten, it works as a super warm mid-layer. The Duck Oven is available for waterfowl hunting scenarios and is available in Timber and Marsh patterns.

Dakota Pant

The Sitka Gear Dakota Pant is the perfect combination of ultra-tough workwear on the outside and sweat pant comfort on the inside, and it has a place in any waterfowl hunter’s arsenal. The outside of the pant features 4-way stretch nylon facing that stands up to the harshest abuse while repelling water, but the inside is ultra-comfortable with a bonded fleece backer. This pant is extremely nimble, which means you’ll hardly feel like you’re wearing it even when you’re crouching for minutes on end in the duck blind. Like the Duck Oven Jacket, the Dakota Pant is available in Timber and Marsh patterns, but you can get it in a Sitka Solid color as well.

Sitka Gear Logo Wear

Sitka Gear has expanded their logo and casual wear line this year to provide more clothing options perfect for days away from the hunting stand. Hunters who rely on Sitka Gear for all their hunting adventures often want to sport the logo and brand in casual situations, and the 2017 logo line offers them plenty of great options including hats, beanies, t-shirts, long sleeve shirts and hoodies. The majority of shirts and hoodies feature the Sitka Gear logo, but you can get hats and beanies in all the popular Gore Optifade patterns. Also coming this year are artistic Sitka Gear apparel options with scenes and homages to those who hunt.
